Answers from TravallamaINS, a licensed independent travel insurance agency, to common questions about this. Benefits, limits and conditions differ by plan and by state, and the plan document governs.
Which states do you sell in?
We currently offer plans to residents of Florida, California, Illinois, Michigan, North Carolina and New York.
If you live in another state, we are not able to offer you a plan at this time. Our Licenses page lists our license numbers, and they can be verified at nipr.com using NPN 8469572.
Why is the plan different or unavailable in my state?
Travel insurance is approved state by state, so benefits, wording, price and optional upgrades can differ depending on where you live. Some plans or upgrades are not approved in every state.
Your state of residence decides which version you get. The plan cards link to the plan document that applies to you.
Which state counts: where I live or where I'm traveling?
Where you live. Enter the state of your primary residence, the home you use for legal and tax purposes. Your destination is entered separately.
Can I cancel the insurance and get a refund?
Yes, within the plan's review period, as long as you have not left on your trip, have not had a loss that could be claimed, and have not filed a claim. After that the plan cost is not refundable.
Travel Insured: 14 days from your coverage effective date (New York plan: by written notice, and no later than your scheduled departure date).
Trawick Pathway: 21 days from purchase in Florida; 14 days in California, Illinois and North Carolina; in Michigan, 10 days after you receive the plan by email. The New York plan document does not state a review period.
WorldTrips Atlas Journey: 15 days from purchase.
To cancel, email info@travallamains.com with your plan number and we will arrange it with the insurance company.
How do I make a complaint?
Please contact us first at info@travallamains.com so we can try to resolve it. For a claim decision, you can ask the insurance company in writing to review it; the Travel Insured New York plan document sets out a formal grievance procedure.
You can also contact the insurance department of your state. New York residents: New York State Department of Financial Services, dfs.ny.gov.
