Plans we offer to New York residents
Travel Insured International
Travel insurance is approved state by state, so the version of each plan you get depends on where you live. Which plans and upgrades you can buy, and the price, are confirmed when you enter your trip. Benefits, limits and conditions differ by plan and by state, and the plan document governs.

Is Cancel for Any Reason available in New York?
Cancel for Any Reason insurance is not part of the plans we offer to New York residents. Instead, WorldTrips Atlas Journey Preferred and Premier offer an upgrade called Cancel for Fortuitous Reasons (CFFR).
- Preferred: 75% of trip cost. Premier: your choice of 50% or 75%.
- Buy within 21 days of your first trip payment, be able to travel when you buy it, and cancel 48 hours or more before departure. Premier also requires that you insured 100% of the known trip cost.
- Only for trips costing up to $150,000 per person.
- WorldTrips has told us it does not offer this upgrade for trips to Israel.
Travel Insured's New York plan document also describes a separate, non-insurance Cancel for Any Reason waiver sold by Travel Insured. Ask a licensed agent about it: info@travallamains.com.

What does Cancel for Fortuitous Reasons mean?
It is not the same as Cancel for Any Reason. The WorldTrips New York plans define a fortuitous event as one that could not have been reasonably foreseen or expected, is out of your control, and is reasonably expected to cause the cancellation of your trip.
The plan document gives no examples, and the insurance company decides whether a reason qualifies. Ask a licensed agent if you have a specific situation in mind.

How far back do the plans look for pre-existing conditions?
The look-back period is counted back from the day your coverage takes effect.
- Travel Insured Deluxe: 90 days. Platinum: 60 days. New York plan: 60 days.
- Trawick Pathway Plus and Premier: 180 days (90 days in the New York versions).
- WorldTrips Atlas Journey (all plans): 90 days.

How do I get pre-existing conditions covered?
Buy the plan within its time-sensitive period after your first trip payment, and be medically able to travel on the day you buy. If you meet the conditions, the plan waives its pre-existing condition exclusion.
- Travel Insured Deluxe: within 14 days. Platinum: within 21 days.
- Trawick Pathway Plus: within 14 days. Pathway Premier: on or before your final trip payment due date.
- WorldTrips Atlas Journey: within 21 days.
- New York versions (Travel Insured and Trawick): within 21 days (Trawick Premier: by the final payment due date), and you must also insure all prepaid, non-refundable trip costs.

How much medical coverage do the plans include?
Emergency medical limits per person:
- Travel Insured: Deluxe $250,000; Platinum $500,000; New York plan $100,000.
- Trawick: Pathway Plus $100,000; Pathway Premier $200,000.
- WorldTrips: Explore $150,000; Elevate $250,000; New York Preferred $100,000; New York Premier $150,000.
The benefit covers a sickness or injury that happens during the trip. Care after you return home is not covered.

How soon do I have to cancel with the airline or program?
Cancel with your travel suppliers as soon as the covered reason arises, and no later than 72 hours after it. Travel Insured and WorldTrips will not pay extra penalties that built up because you waited longer than 72 hours.
Then report the claim to the insurance company promptly. Trawick requires written notice of a claim within 7 days in its Florida version; its New York version reduces benefits if the claim is reported after 72 hours.

How long a trip can I insure?
It depends on the plan. Trawick Pathway covers trips up to 90 days (Florida version) and WorldTrips Atlas Journey covers trips up to 180 days.
Travel Insured's documents do not state a maximum trip length, but its sickness medical benefit applies to trips of 180 days or less (90 days on the New York plan).

Can I insure a trip to Israel?
Yes. Our plans can be bought for trips to Israel, and the medical, evacuation, delay, baggage and standard cancellation benefits apply.
Know the limits first:
- Losses caused by war or acts of war are excluded on every plan.
- Fear of traveling is not a covered reason to cancel.
- WorldTrips has told us it does not offer Cancel for Any Reason (or Cancel for Fortuitous Reasons) for trips to Israel.
- Travel Insured Deluxe and Platinum and Trawick Pathway Premier (not its New York version) offer Cancel for Any Reason, subject to their conditions. Travel Insured offers it only for trips costing up to $37,500 per person on Deluxe or $112,500 on Platinum.

What if the program operator goes bankrupt or disappears with my money?
Every plan lists supplier bankruptcy or financial default as a reason, but the conditions differ, and on some plans it will not help with the operator you paid.
- All plans: the supplier must completely stop providing travel services, more than 14 days after your coverage began.
- Travel Insured New York plan: does not cover the default of the tour operator, agency or firm you bought the trip from.
- Travel Insured Deluxe and Platinum: the exclusions say there is no coverage for the financial default of "Your Travel Supplier". Confirm with Travel Insured in writing before relying on it.
- Trawick Florida and California: not for a firm that sold you arrangements supplied by others; you must insure the full trip cost, pay for the plan by final payment, and depart within 15 months.
- WorldTrips and Trawick New York: you must buy within 21 days of your first trip payment. These documents have no exclusion for the company you bought from.
Ask a licensed agent how this applies to your operator before relying on it: info@travallamains.com.
